This house is full of Tiny Cool

There was a beach party going on in the boys' bedroom this morning.  They had brightly coloured towels across the floor, they had shorts and tank tops on, they were pretending to apply sunscreen (high five for mom's constant nagging finally showing some results) and they had the cd player set up with some groovin' music to "beach" to.

What were they listening to, you ask?  (Of course you ask this because you know how much I love sharing music with you!)

A fun new disc we've been listening to for a few weeks called Tiny Cool by Princess Katie and Racer Steve.

As I understand, this duo has released other cds before but I was happy to have a chance to take a listen to this one and let you all know just how Tiny Cool it is!  This is a disc worth having in your collection if you have young kids who like upbeat tunes that make you want to dance. In fact, I was shaking my booty more than just a little, too.  {ahem}

From Max's favourite track - Stick Around (Can we get an anthem) - which reminds me of late '80s B-52s to one of Suvi's faves, the title track Tiny Cool.  (Psst -it's my favourite track, too. )  While I just like shakin' it to this James Brown-esque tune, Suvi loves singing along to the chorus because it's so fast and it's a challenge for her to get all the words in quickly enough.

Best part?  When she sings this one, she stands beside the player, completely straight with only the slightest head bop - totally Night at the Roxy.  Hilarious.

Here's a little taste of these NYC-based, kid-friendly rockers:

Cute!  So, check them out if you have any little music lovers in your house - they'll enjoy the tunes and the banter that precedes some of the tunes.  I'd bet they're great live, too, if you have a chance to see them.

Back to the beach...
