Me "Um...this one looks like...oh, maybe...otyre? And this other one could be...wamxoy?"
Max stares at me blankly.
Me "Well, it looks to me like there's some secret codes going on here! Have you and the other superheroes been writing each other notes in code?"
Max pauses. "Yeah! It's secret code. That's how I tell them where the secret hiding place is. But it's a secret."
Me "That's fantastic, Max. I don't know where the hiding place is at all from reading this."
Max "I know. That's 'cause I'm Batman. Oh, and you can put that paper up on your bedroom wall and look at it every day because I made it special and it would be good to hang it where you can look at it all the time because I made it for you."
Me "Thanks, Max. I'll put it up for sure."
I can only pray that the supervillians don't sneak into the bedroom at night and decipher the code...

How gorgeous! Funny, I'm also the parent of Batman. My Batman is female, though.
ReplyDeleteI have Supergirl here and she likes to fly.
ReplyDeleteVery cute story.
That is brilliant! Chuckles will spend so much time writing and then ask me what it says. It breaks my heart to tell her it says "chertuiijk" and she looks at me like I am nuts. Secret code...definitely going to remember that one.
ReplyDeleteAHAHAHAH awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love that conversation!
ReplyDeleteHeh heh heh! We have that same book at our house. Is it about 1/2 the size of letter paper and did it come with a spinning wheel with Rosetta Stone characters? Look for the bat signal later and we'll meet up customs!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it would be a shame for the villians to find out that the otyre is hidden in the wamxoy, but sometimes that's the way the foeicjg sirtues.
ReplyDeleteThat was hilarious and a brilliant save.
