The always entertaining, Maxwell

Some of the best things come out of Max's mouth.  He's got a habit of saying things that are (usually unintentionally) hilarious.

A few recent examples:

"Mom, Dad, look - I'm a caterpillar.  But I'm not ready to come out.  I'm still in my raccoon."

"I'm Batman and Finn is Robin and we're going to kill the ghost that's in the livingroom.  That's what Batmans and Robins do."

"Mom, why is Toopy such an ugly cat?"

Whenever we hear a Beatles song, he yells "It's Rockband Beatles!  It's Rockband Beatles!"

"Submarines are good at going underwater and looking at penises."  (this was in the bathtub, FYI, don't get all creeped out)

"Look, Mom!  I'm making my own bubbles in the tub!  Don't worry, it's only toots....uh-oh..."

And lastly, my Finnish grandmother (Mummo) sometimes still confuses words and we laugh about it - she's a good sport and usually laughs, too.   Over the holidays, she had made reference to The Three Stooges but called them The Three Students.  Max heard this and now keeps referring to The Stooges as The Three Students.

Okay, that last one wasn't as funny once written out as it actually was when it happened.  Ah, well...one of those "you had to be there" moments.

He's also one of those kids who doesn't necessarily "get" team sports.  For example, Max's soccer prowess from a few weeks back:

Yeah, Max gets the kick-in!  Go Max!

Uh, Max?  You have to go along with the ball, too!  The team's down at the other end!  Max?

Oh, Max!  Here comes the action!  Get that ball!   Make sure it doesn't get in the net!  Max?

Max, you have to face the field.   The game is in the other direction!

Right then.  That about sums it up.

Max.  Makes me crazy, makes me laugh, makes me want to hug him (and have a glass of wine).

  13. The submarine comment is something I would hear from one of my own boys. And Evan asks all the time if the band playing is the Beatles. At least, we're giving our kids a taste of good music, right?
